That $75 grill cover that saved my BBQ from a hail storm last June
I live in Oklahoma where the weather changes faster than a politician's promise. Last June we had this sudden hail storm come out of nowhere, golf ball sized chunks falling like crazy. I had just bought this heavy duty cover from a local hardware store for my Weber kettle grill, cost me about 75 bucks. The hail was banging on everything, broke my neighbor's windshield and dented their shed roof. But my grill came out totally fine underneath that cover, not a single dent or scratch. It was one of those rare times where spending a little extra actually paid off in full. My wife laughed at me for buying such a nice cover, but after that storm she said it was money well spent. Has anyone else had a cheap buy turn into a lifesaver like that?

That's rough about your patio furniture, I hate when you think you're getting something decent and it falls apart like that. At least you know now to stay away from that brand for sure.

Spent a similar amount on a "weatherproof" cover for my patio furniture last spring, turns out it was only weatherproof against like, a light drizzle. That hail storm shredded it into confetti, my cushions looked like a zombie apocalypse hit them. So your $75 cover is basically a superhero compared to my mistake, glad someone got the good end of the deal.
