That Iowa rally crowd reaction caught me off guard
Back in January 2024, I watched the caucus night coverage from my living room in Des Moines. I voted for a different candidate in the primary, so I was already feeling like the odd one out. When Trump won by that 30-point margin, my neighbor across the street put up a huge flag and blasted his speech from a speaker on his porch. I walked over to ask him to turn it down, and we ended up talking for 45 minutes. He showed me photos from the rally he went to in Indianola, and he wasn't angry or crazy, just really convinced the economy was better under Trump. I didn't change my vote, but I did realize I'd been lumping all his supporters into one group. What did you do when you first realized you disagreed with someone close to you on him?

My buddy Rick had a similar wake-up call when his own brother flew in for that rally, and they didn't talk for two months after.
