That time I used the White House visitor guide trick for a school project
My kid had to do a report on presidential leadership styles and I was stuck on how to make it interesting. I remembered a tip from a tour guide in DC about using Trump's public speeches as primary sources, not just news articles. We pulled transcripts from his rallies and compared the language patterns to his policy papers on the White House website. It took about 3 evenings to break down 5 speeches, but it made the whole thing click. The teacher actually asked where we got the idea because it was so specific. Has anyone else used official transcripts to teach history or politics to kids? Would love other tricks for making this stuff less boring.
