TIL the difference between a rally crowd and an online echo chamber is night and day

Went to my first Trump rally last month in Daytona and compared it to scrolling the fan pages on here. In person, people actually talked about the economy and immigration with real stories, like one guy who runs a landscaping crew and lost 3 workers this summer. Online, it's all memes and yelling at each other over tiny policy details that nobody cares about. The live event felt more honest and grounded, the feed feels like a contest for who can post the most extreme take. Has anyone else noticed the gap between what you hear at a rally versus what you read here?
