Warning: That rally in Phoenix changed how I follow politics

I was at the Phoenix rally last June and a guy next to me showed me a live fact-check site on his phone. Now I always cross-check what's said against that site. Anyone else pick up a habit from a random stranger at an event?

Used to think fact-checks were just biased nonsense from people with their own agendas. That guy at the rally pulled up a live site and showed me two things the speaker said that were just plain wrong, like the crowd size claim and something about a trade deal. Made me stop and think maybe I was the one not being fair. Now I check that same site before I share anything political. It's weird how one person's phone screen can change your whole approach to this stuff.

Same thing happened to me last month, totally changed how I see stuff now.
