A senior drafter told me to stop hatching everything manually

He showed me a custom lisp routine that automates all my hatches, and now I finish detail drawings in half the time - has anyone else picked up a game-changing shortcut from an old-timer?

Respect the old ways but automation saves time if you know what you're doing.

My grandma still cans tomatoes every summer the old way and it takes her two full days. But she also uses a food processor for chopping onions now because she says her hands just can't take it anymore. That's how I see most things really, you keep the parts that matter and let machines handle the boring stuff. It's like how we all still write thank you notes by hand but pay bills online, nobody thinks that's weird. The real trick is knowing which is which.
