Cleaned up a drawing set from 2008 and the file size dropped by 75%

I was converting some old AutoCAD files for a client and opened one from a project I did in 2008. The purge and audit commands took out over 800 layers and blocks I forgot were even in there. How much useless data do you think we're all still carrying around in old templates?

Over 800 layers?! That's insane!

Yeah, my buddy tried a project with that many layers once. He said it was like trying to fold a map back up perfectly, every single step had to be exact. Took him weeks, @victor_roberts29, and one tiny mistake near the end meant starting over. He never tried anything that big again.

Split mine into modules. Made each layer group its own file. Like building blocks. That way if one section messed up, I only had to redo that block, not the whole thing. Saved my sanity on a 500 layer project last year. Still took forever but at least it was manageable.
