Just landed my first solo drafter contract after 8 months of grinding

I finally got a call last Thursday to do the drafting for a small garage addition here in Austin. Took me forever to build up a portfolio of side projects, but seeing my name on that contract line felt pretty good. Anyone else remember their first big solo job?

Congrats on the solo contract. But garage addition in Austin? Hope you checked the permit requirements first. That city is picky about ADUs and setbacks. Learned that the hard way when I did a shed plan last year. Had to redo three sheets because I missed the drainage easement rule. Just a heads up to double check their local code.

Hold up, THREE sheets worth of redos? Man, I would have lost my mind on that. They really make you sweat the little stuff down there, huh.
