My plotter decided to eat a full set of D-size prints right before a deadline
I was running final checks on a big set of foundation plans for a job in Spokane last Thursday when the feed rollers jammed and crumpled every single sheet. Had to redraft and reprint the whole package overnight. What's the best way to clear a bad paper jam without making it worse?

That sounds like a total nightmare, especially right before a deadline. Been there. First thing is to power the plotter completely off, don't just try to reverse it. You need to gently work the crumpled paper out by hand, following the paper path. Forcing it will just shred things and leave bits inside. Sometimes you have to open access panels from the side to get a better angle. A small flashlight helps you see what's really stuck. It's a slow, annoying process but usually works if you're patient.
