Shoutout to my old boss for a wild reality check. Just hit 10,000 hours on CAD software and he said that's when you stop fighting the tool.

Hold up, that's a dangerous mindset. Ten thousand hours just means you're really good at using that specific tool, not that you've mastered the actual design thinking. What if the software itself is holding you back and you're too deep in its habits to see a better way?

Man, @jana_hernandez that's such a good point. I see this everywhere, like people who only know how to cook with one brand of air fryer and can't use a real oven. You get so used to the buttons and beeps you forget the basic idea of heating food. It happens with any tool, not just design software. You stop solving the real problem and just start solving the problem of how to make the tool do something.

My old guitar teacher said the same thing about pedals.
