Switched from paper to digital layers for a big project and cut my time by nearly half
I had a 3-story townhouse plan due last Friday and was drowning in redlines. Tried doing all revisions as separate layers in AutoCAD instead of re-drawing sections over and over. Saved me about 10 hours total once I got the hang of it. Anyone else find a trick that just clicked after years of doing it the hard way?

Pick just about anything in my life right now and I can point to some old habit I was doing for way too long before something clicked. It's like we get these blinders on and just keep going through the motions, whether it's making coffee or laying out a floor plan. There's gotta be some mental cost to switching methods that feels heavier than the actual time waste, you know? Once you finally see the better way, you wonder how you ever survived the old one.

Blow my mind how we push through years of doing things the hard way just because "that's how it's always been done." Took me forever to realize copying a layer and clicking "hide" beats redrawing a whole building elevation from scratch. But hey, at least we got some character building out of all that wasted time, right?
