Changed my mind about those cheap replacement cutter teeth
I bought a set of generic cutter teeth for about $800 to save cash on a channel maintenance job, thinking they'd hold up fine. They wore down to nubs in under two weeks, costing me way more in downtime and fuel than the name brand ones would have. Has anyone found a decent budget brand that actually lasts, or is it always a false economy?

Know a guy who swears by the mid-tier stuff from a farm supply place, says they last almost as long as the big names for half the price. Sometimes the cheap ones are just junk metal that can't handle real work, but there's a sweet spot if you look hard enough. I've had good luck buying last year's model from the main brands when they clear stock, saves a bundle without the gamble. It really depends on the ground you're cutting though, rocky soil eats anything that isn't top shelf.

Reminds me of the time I found a decent shovel at a yard sale.

Nailed it, Felix. I had a beat up old Husqvarna from a few seasons back that I got on clearance for almost nothing, and it chewed through everything I threw at it for years. Rocky clay soil up here can wreck a cheap chain in a single afternoon, but that mid-range stuff held up way better than I expected. You just gotta know your dirt, aint that the truth.
