Double lining the jet pump hose fixed my vacuum loss in 20 minutes

Kept losing suction on the Mississippi job after 6 hours of straight running, so I slipped a used 4 inch liner sleeve inside the worn section instead of ordering a new hose and hauling it out to the barge, has anyone else patched a soft spot that way or am I just asking for a blowout?
