Just lost a full day's pay on a bad hose clamp in the Columbia River

Was running my 8-inch cutterhead near Astoria and a cheap clamp on the discharge hose blew. Cost me about $800 in downtime and repairs for a part that was maybe $15. Should have just bought the heavy-duty ones from the start. Anyone have a go-to brand for high-pressure fittings that actually hold up?

Honestly, how often does that really happen though?

Been there. Those cheap clamps are a total scam. Get the stainless ones from McMaster-Carr, they never let go.

You ever notice how people cheap out on the one thing that holds everything together? It's like buying discount tires for a work truck. You save a few bucks now, but when it fails you're stuck on the side of the road. Same with clamps, hoses, even the bolts on your gear. The cheap stuff always bites you in the ass when you're already under pressure. I see it all the time, not just in my line of work but with buddies who fix their own stuff at home. They'll spend days on a project and then trust a dollar clamp to keep it from flooding. Makes no sense.
