My crew laughed when I started color-coding the hose connections, but now they copy me.
I used to hook up hoses by guesswork, and we messed up a lot. Now, I mark intake lines with blue tape and discharge with red. This stops mix-ups and gets us working faster. The whole team uses my system now.

Ever notice how color coding pops up in the most random jobs? I saw a janitor once with a rainbow of keys on colored rings, never fumbling for the right one. It's like your hose system, a small change that just makes sense.

OSHA would tell you red is for danger, but you made it for discharge which is pretty clever. That quick visual cue turns a possible mistake into a muscle memory move. It just makes the whole job feel more sorted from the start.
