Switched from steel to composite drag head flaps, now I'm second guessing

Put composite flaps on the 14 inch dredge near Biloxi three weeks back after the steel ones chewed through their second set of bolts, and the pump pressure dropped 8 psi but the cuts feel cleaner. My old boss swears steel is the only way for shell beds, but the new setup is bouncing less on hardpack, anyone else made this swap and stuck with it or gone back?

Same thing happened to me last year on my 12 inch rig, switched to composite and never looked back. Dropped pressure about the same but the real win was how much smoother she ran through the oyster shell up around Pass Christian. Steel always grabbed and shuddered, composite just slides through. I did keep a spare set of steel plates in the truck for the first month just in case, but ended up selling them to a buddy. The bolt wear alone was worth it, I was replacing those things every few weeks before.
