Warning: the new sediment bypass channel in Portland is a mess waiting to happen

I was on the Columbia last month and saw they're using a 6-inch cutter head for a job that clearly needs an 8-inch minimum, which is going to cause a major clog before winter.

You mentioned the 6-inch cutter head. How did you know it wasn't big enough for that job?

The specs sheet said it could only handle material up to five inches thick. The job ticket clearly listed six inch stock. Basic math says that's not gonna work.

Six inch stock? That's close to a 20 percent over the rating. @bailey.karen I'm with you on that one. Doesn't matter how good the tool is if you're feeding it more than it's built for.
