I finally looked up the actual weight of a 4x12 sheet of 5/8
I was moving some boards around yesterday and guessed they were about 80 pounds each. Checked the spec sheet online and it's actually 106 pounds! No wonder my back's been sore. Anyone else have a go-to trick for handling the heavier sheets solo?

Do you ever run into trouble with the wheel method on, say, gravel or wet concrete where the edge just digs in instead of rolling?

Man, that weight adds up fast. I slide a scrap piece of 2x4 under the sheet on the ground to get my fingers under it for a better grip. Lets me lift with my legs instead of just bending over.

My old boss at the lumberyard taught me to roll the sheet onto its long edge and walk it like a giant wheel. It sounds stupid but it works for getting it across a garage or driveway without carrying the full weight. You just tip it, get it balanced, and push. Saves your back from a deadlift. That 106 pounds is no joke.
