Mud pan choice made my last 14-hour day bearable, not kidding
Was fighting with a cheap plastic pan for two jobs straight, mud kept sliding off the corners and I was re-dipping constantly. Swapped to a stainless 12-inch box pan at the supply house in Tulsa last week, cost me 38 bucks. The weight difference alone settled the mud flat, no more wobble when I was topping out the second coat. Has anyone else noticed the seam cleaner with a proper pan versus fighting a flimsy one, or is it just me?
Went through the same thing last summer on a big remodel. My old pan was so light that every time I hit a corner it would tip and dump mud on my knuckles. Picked up a 14 inch stainless at a flea market for 25 bucks and the extra weight keeps it flat against the wall. Now I can pull a full seam in one pass without stopping to scoop.
