Unpopular opinion: I think fiberglass mesh tape gets way too much hate from old timers
I used paper tape for years like everyone told me to. But last month on a job in Cleveland I tried mesh tape on some garage drywall where the seams were a bit uneven. It held up way better for me and I didn't have to fight bubbles. Has anyone else actually given mesh a fair shot on tricky corners or am I alone on this?

River scott, you're spot on about it being less fussy with old drywall. Last summer I was doing a buddy's basement in Akron and the mesh saved me on a wavy ceiling seam, paper would've been a nightmare. Honestly the bubbles fight was the main reason I gave mesh a real shot and I'm glad I did.

Oh man, I feel you on this one. I switched to mesh a couple years ago for a similar spot and honestly never looked back for those rough seams. It's just way less fussy when you're dealing with old drywall or repairs.
