DAE think that 'good' day of exile feels worse than the bad ones?
I had a Tuesday last month that was actually decent. Found a gig fixing a bakery's walk in cooler for $450 cash, guy even gave me a free loaf of sourdough. But walking home through Sarajevo with that bread, I felt this weird hollow feeling. Like the good days just remind me harder that I can't ever go back to war torn home. Anyone else get that twist in your gut when things go right?

That line about the "hollow feeling" really got me. Reminds me of when I got a new jacket from a donation bin after mine got ripped up, and I stood there feeling guilty because my buddy who helped me find it was still sleeping in a cardboard box under the bridge. Those small wins just make you look around and notice everyone else still stuck in the mud.

Wait, did you end up saying anything to him that night or the next day about how you felt? Or did you just stuff it down and move on?
