A random airport conversation flipped my whole shipping strategy

Last week I was stuck in Denver waiting on a delayed flight and started chatting with this guy who runs a small outdoor gear shop. He mentioned he was losing like $300 a month on return shipping just because he never weighed his items after packing with extra padding. I went home and checked my own numbers, turns out I was overpaying on about 18% of my orders because I guessed the weights. Has anyone else had this issue where your actual package weight is way off from what you listed on the platform?

Funny how a random chat in an airport can save you money. Guess the universe wanted me to stop eyeballing weight and start using the scale. Now I just need someone to remind me to weigh the tape too.
