Charging extra for signature delivery actually cut our claims in half

Had a call last Tuesday with a guy who runs a small furniture store in Austin. He told me he started requiring adult signatures on anything over $200. I thought it would kill his sales, but his missing package claims dropped from maybe 12 a month to 5, and the cost of the extra signature fee was less than the refunds he used to eat. I'm thinking about testing this on our higher value orders, maybe starting at $250. Has anyone else tried a signature threshold and seen their dispute rate go down?
