Concrete sealer from Home Depot vs proper epoxy - night and day

I used that Rust-Oleum concrete sealer from Home Depot on my garage floor last spring and it was peeling within 6 months. Switched to a proper 2-part epoxy from Armorcoat in Edmonton and it's held up fine through 3 winter salt seasons. The prep work took 2 full days but the results are ten times better. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed the same difference?

Honestly that's kind of my take too. People act like your garage floor is a major life investment or something. Yeah if you're running a legit business out of there or parking a classic car on it every single day, go nuts with the fancy epoxy. But for most of us who just park a normal car and maybe drop a wrench on the ground sometimes, the Home Depot stuff is totally fine. I've had Rust-Oleum on my shed floor for 3 or 4 years now and it's chipped in like one spot where I dropped a heavy toolbox. Not worth losing a whole weekend over.

i mean, i get where you're coming from but i kinda had the opposite experience. i used that same rust-oleum stuff on my little shed floor and it's been fine for like two years now. maybe i got lucky or my prep was just okay idk. the two-part epoxy sounds way more legit for sure, but for a garage that's just sitting there i didn't want to spend all weekend on it. i guess it depends on what you're using it for too, like if it's getting driven on every day versus just storing some bins.
