Finally figured out why my basement drywall kept bubbling after painting
Honestly, I spent 3 weekends mudding and sanding only to have bubbles pop up in the same spot by the window every time, and then my neighbor who does renovations for a living told me I was using too much water in my joint compound for the cold temps here in Edmonton, has anyone else run into humidity issues with all-purpose mud in winter?

Wait, have you noticed that almost every annoying home repair problem turns out to be something tiny you did wrong that nobody tells you about? Like I swear every project I've ever done has some hidden rule that only comes out after you've already messed up twice. The cold mud thing makes total sense though, my buddy in Calgary tried to patch his garage in November and it just kept cracking until he realized he needed a different compound. It's wild how much temps and humidity just wreck all the normal rules you read online.

Yeah no kidding. Spent three hours caulking a tub wrong before someone told me it only sticks if the surface is bone dry.
