Just finished redoing my garage floor with that Rust-Oleum epoxy kit

I spent last Saturday in Edmonton working on my garage floor with that Rust-Oleum epoxy kit from Home Depot. An older guy walking his dog stopped by and said 'hey, make sure you let it cure for a full 48 hours before parking anything on it, I learned that the hard way.' Saved me from messing it up, honestly. Has anyone else gotten random advice from neighbors that actually stuck?

That whole "let it cure for 48 hours" advice is overblown honestly. I did my garage floor last summer with the same kit and parked my truck on it after 24 hours. Zero problems, no peeling, no tire marks. The guy walking his dog probably messed up his own application by not cleaning the concrete right or mixing it properly, so now he thinks the cure time is the magic fix. Most of these epoxy kits are pretty forgiving if you follow the basic prep steps and the weather isn't crazy humid. I'd trust the label's instructions over some random neighbor who probably just wants to feel smart about his own garage project.

Nail on the head @ryang77, it's the same with people stressing over grill seasoning or cast iron care, they overthink the process and blame the wrong step when their shortcut backfires.
