Last weekend I tried fixing a leaky basement wall in my 1950s house in Edmonton
I spent Saturday mixing hydraulic cement and patching up a crack in my basement wall near the furnace. The water was seeping in after that big rain we had Tuesday. I used about 20 bucks worth of cement from Home Depot and it took me 4 hours total. The crack was tiny maybe 2 inches long but the water was pooling on the floor. Anybody here ever dealt with foundation cracks in an older Edmonton home? What sealant worked best for you?

That 20 bucks sounds about right if you just did a small patch with hydraulic cement, but you gotta make sure you chipped out the crack into a V shape first or it'll just pop right back out come spring thaw.

Wait, only 20 bucks? That seems way too cheap for a fix that's actually gonna hold.
