A customer told me my oil change intervals were costing them money
I had this guy come into my shop on 118 Ave last month and he showed me the service records from his Ford F-150. He said I was pushing 8,000 km between changes and his last mechanic always did it at 5,000. I looked closer at his driving habits, lots of short trips and cold starts in winter. Turns out Edmonton's freeze-thaw cycles really mess with oil breakdown way more than I thought. Anyone else adjust their service recommendations based on the weather here?

Wait, his old shop was actually pushing 5,000 km intervals on a F-150? That's INSANE for modern synthetic oil, even with our brutal winters. You'd basically be changing oil every 3 months if you drive like a normal person.
