Found a trick to clear snow off my driveway without shoveling or salting

I got tired of my back hurting after every snowfall in Edmonton last winter. So I tried pouring warm water mixed with a bit of dish soap on the ice patches before it froze solid. It actually melted the bond between ice and concrete, and a push broom cleared it in 5 minutes. Has anyone else tried this or got a better hack for icy driveways?

lol yes I tried this last year after seeing it on TikTok and it actually works way better than I expected. The dish soap is the key, I messed up the first time by just using warm water and it turned into an ice rink lol.

4 ounces of dish soap per gallon of water is way too much, I tried that exact ratio and it just made the glass super streaky and left a weird film that attracted dirt. @emeryfox I think you got lucky with your climate or something because up here in the PNW the humidity made the soap mixture turn into a sticky mess that fogged up way worse than just plain water. I'll stick with the old school shop towel and window squeegee method, it takes 10 extra minutes but actually gives you a clear view for weeks instead of days.
