My French press exploded in the sink this morning
I was just rinsing out my old Bodum French press after breakfast, not even scrubbing hard, and the glass beaker just shattered in my hands. Hot water and coffee grounds went everywhere all over the counter and my shirt. I've had that thing for maybe 3 years, bought it at that kitchen store on Whyte Ave. Now I'm standing there with a wet mug and a handful of broken glass, wondering if I even want another glass one or if I should just switch to a stainless steel one. Has anyone else had a glass French press blow up on them like that, or did I just get a dud?

Dropped a glass one on tile floor last year. Switched to stainless and never looked back, way tougher.

Totally agree @andrewt41, same thing happened to me and stainless is just bulletproof.
