That time the Jasper Ave roadwork detour cost me 45 minutes

I was heading to a dentist appointment on 109th Street last Tuesday and hit the new detour they set up for the LRT construction. Google maps showed 12 minutes but I spent almost an hour crawling through side streets because nobody told me about the left turn ban at Jasper and 108. I ended up parking 6 blocks away and jogging in my dress shoes. The receptionist said they called me twice but I missed it because my phone was on silent. Has anyone else gotten burned by these detour signs that don't give you enough warning?

...and I somehow STILL tried to turn left out of pure habit the NEXT DAY. Like my brain just refused to learn the new rule. I sat there at the green light for a full minute with my blinker on, just waiting for a gap in traffic that was never gonna come. The car behind me finally honked and I just waved like an idiot and went straight. Honestly at this point I think the city should just hand out GPS devices that also slap us when we mess up.
