The road near my house in Edmonton finally got repaved after 8 years of potholes

I drove down 118 Avenue every day for work, and that stretch between 82 Street and Fort Road was like a minefield. After last spring's freeze-thaw cycle, it got so bad I popped a tire on a hidden crater. The city finally came through this August and repaved about 3 kilometers of it. The ride is smooth now, but does anyone else feel like these repairs always take way too long?

Did your buddy ever file a claim with the city for that tire? I had a friend who hit a pothole near 118 Ave and 97 Street back in 2019, destroyed his rim and everything. He submitted a claim to the city and actually got reimbursed for the damage a few months later (I mean, it took forever, but he got the check). The whole process was a giant headache of paperwork and photos though, almost not worth the hassle. Still, it might be something to keep in mind if you ever hit another one of those craters before they patch things up.
