The weird 'new building' smell at Southgate Mall is gone

I was at Southgate Mall last weekend grabbing lunch at the food court, and I realized I haven't smelled that fresh paint and caulking smell for like a year now. After the big renovation like 2 years ago, everyone kept saying how the whole place smelled brand new, but now it just smells like old popcorn and parking lot air. I think people miss that smell sometimes, even if they complained about it making their eyes water. It's funny how a place can feel older just because a scent fades away. Has anyone else noticed that smell totally disappeared at Southgate?

Wait, wouldn't a few days of open windows let all the heat out and run up your energy bill though? @wesley83 I get the idea but that seems like a waste in winter.
