Tried biking the river valley trails after a rain and learned my lesson
Honestly, I thought I'd save time cutting through the river valley trails on my way to work last week. It had rained the night before, and I figured the paths would be fine since they're paved. Nope, about 10 minutes in I hit a slick leaf patch and almost wiped out on my commuter bike. Took me an extra 20 minutes to get around the muddy sections instead of just taking the road. Has anyone else found a better shortcut for avoiding the post-rain slop on those trails?

Nah, you're doing it wrong. The whole point of the river valley trails after rain is the challenge. Slick leaf patches and surprise mud bogs are what make it interesting. Just lean back, go slower, and embrace the chaos instead of trying to shave off two minutes.

Ever eat it so hard your shoe filled with mud and you had to run a full mile squishing?
