Heard a realtor say new builds are a scam compared to buying a 70s bungalow. Is that actually true though?

Did you see that viral thread last week where someone found a 1960s cigarette lighter inside their wall during a renovation and it still worked? It's funny how some things just hold up no matter the age, but I wouldn't trust that logic with wiring or plumbing.
