Rant: My realtor ghosted me after I asked about property tax history
Honestly, I was looking at a house in Mill Woods last month and I asked my realtor to pull up the tax records on it. She said she'd get back to me, then nothing. Three days of silence and she finally texts saying she's 'too busy' to deal with small stuff. Like, isn't that part of the job? Has anyone else had a realtor just bail on simple requests like that?

My cousin had a realtor who just straight up stopped answering calls after she asked if the basement had ever flooded. Turned out the place had a whole swimming pool down there from a burst pipe two years before. So she found a new realtor who dug up all the records, and guess what? The house was a total loss before the previous owner fixed it up on the cheap. I swear some agents treat you like you're being picky when you're just trying not to buy a money pit.

Yeah I gotta admit I used to think that was just people being dramatic about bad realtors. Like I figured most agents were fine and the horror stories were rare. But hearing about your cousins situation changed my mind completely. The fact that the first realtor just ghosted after a totally normal question says everything. That's not just being lazy thats actively hiding stuff. If they lied by omission about the flood history what else were they hiding? Makes me wonder how many people end up stuck with houses like that because their realtor never asked the hard questions.
