TIL I wasted $200 on a home inspection that missed a cracked foundation

I walked into the basement after closing and saw a hairline crack that the inspector's report totally ignored, so has anyone else found major stuff their inspector missed?

OMG the "hairline crack" part is exactly what got me too! I moved into my place and found a crack that was totally hidden behind a bookshelf the seller left. I actually ended up getting my money back from the inspector by sending them a certified letter with photos and a copy of their report. They had insurance for exactly this kind of thing. A lot of people don't know you can file a complaint with your state's licensing board too, that really lights a fire under them.

Honestly @taylor_flores, you're totally right about the licensing board thing, but just a heads up - some states have a time limit on filing complaints, so don't sit on it too long. Ngl, I learned that the hard way when I waited like 8 months and they told me tough luck.
