Had a service call in a 1980s split-level where every outlet was backstabbed
Spent 8 hours yesterday pulling them all out and using the screws instead. Anyone else just refuse to use backstabs anymore?

Backstabs are the worst invention ever. You find one loose outlet and then the whole house is a fire hazard. Eight hours of your life you'll never get back, but at least you won't get a callback for a melted receptacle. Those things are a time bomb waiting to happen.

Yeah I just replaced every outlet in my old place with the screw terminal kind. Took a weekend but no more guessing which ones are about to fail.
