PSA: Had to pick between a 4/0 aluminum or 2/0 copper feeder for a garage sub-panel last month

The price difference was almost $800 for the whole run, so I went with the aluminum to save the homeowner some cash. I spent an extra hour prepping the lugs with the right oxide inhibitor and torquing them to spec, which felt like overkill at the time. Just finished the final inspection yesterday, and the inspector specifically complimented the terminations. It's a good reminder that the cheaper material can work fine if you do the extra steps right. Anyone have a favorite brand of anti-oxidant paste they swear by?

Good on you for taking that extra time. That's where a lot of guys cut corners and it bites them later.
