Serious question, saw a 'smart' breaker panel install in a new build in Scottsdale

The homeowner was bragging about controlling every circuit from his phone, but all I saw was a future service nightmare with proprietary parts. Has anyone actually had to troubleshoot one of these systems after the app gets discontinued?

Feels like everything is built to break now. Phones slow down after a year, apps get bought and ruined. Nothing is made to last like old things were. We just accept that everything is temporary.
