A 30-year veteran told me to stop using flux pens on HDMI connectors and he was spot on

I switched to a syringe with tacky flux after he showed me how the pen fluid was bridging pins under the microscope on a Sony TV board last Tuesday - has anyone else found a better way to apply flux to fine-pitch chips?

lol mine was so cheap it wrote for about 30 seconds then just quit on me.
