Chat with a HVAC guy changed how I check caps
Was helping a buddy swap out a blower motor last weekend and he pulled out a cheap meter to check the run cap before we even touched anything. Said he lost a $200 compressor once because he assumed the cap was good based on looks alone. Anyone else ever skip testing a cap and regret it later?

Agree completely, I got burned once on a cap that looked brand new but read way low on the meter. Now I test every single one before I even pull the disconnect.

Three blown caps in the last year that looked totally fine on the outside. Learned that lesson the expensive way too.
