Went to a repair shop in Omaha and saw them using a heat gun on a motherboard. I think that's a bad move.

I stopped by a place called Circuit Fix on Maple Street. The tech was trying to reflow a GPU chip on a gaming laptop. He had a basic Wagner heat gun, no nozzle, just blasting the whole board. The plastic connector on the SATA port started to warp after about 30 seconds. I asked if he used a preheater and he said it was a waste of time. I disagree. That kind of uneven heat can cause more hidden damage. Has anyone else seen shops skip proper reflow gear?

Taped my broken phone screen for six months. Looked awful but worked perfectly fine.
