Old timer on a job in Cleveland showed me a trick I still use

Had to swap out a controller in a 1960s building downtown, and this older mechanic named Joe was already there fixing a door. He looked at my setup and goes "stop fighting it, just tap the relay arm with your screwdriver handle" - I thought he was crazy. But after my third try failing to seat the contact, I gave it a whack and click, it locked right in. He was on his way out but took 2 minutes to explain why those old relays get sticky from heat cycling. Anyone else got a quick fix from a vet that turned out to be pure gold?

Yeah that tap trick saves my butt every time those old Allen-Bradley relays get sticky.

Percussive maintenance for the win. Can't beat good old physics.
