Question about a tricky hydraulic elevator leveling issue
Had a Dover hydraulic elevator last Thursday in a building downtown that kept over-leveling by about an inch after every stop. Pulled the valve and cleaned it out but the issue came back on the next call - has anyone else dealt with this on these older Dover systems?

Oh man, I ran into the exact same thing on an old Dover unit last year. Cleaned the valve twice and it still drifted like crazy until I swapped out the O-rings on the pilot piston. Turns out those little rubber rings were getting chewed up by some crud in the oil and letting the valve creep open.

Did you check the pilot piston o-rings? I had the same thing on a Dover a few months back, cleaned everything but it kept creeping until I swapped those little rings out.
