Dropped $40 on a VPN for a project and now I'm getting weird emails from my ISP.

I was just trying to look up some info for a school paper about protest laws in different countries, and now my internet provider sent me a 'suspicious activity' notice asking if my account was compromised, which feels like they were watching way too close.

Yeah, the school paper search thing. My friend got a fraud alert because he was researching a paper on financial scams and his bank saw all the weird searches. They locked his account for two days over it. The whole thing was pretty ridiculous honestly.
