My Signal chat got flagged by my employer's IT last Thursday

I work for a mid-sized marketing firm in Austin. Last Thursday I got a call from IT saying my Signal messages were flagged because the encryption triggered their DLP system. They told me I had to use their approved Slack channels instead. I get that they want to monitor for data leaks but it felt weird having zero privacy for casual work chats. Anyone else run into this kind of overreach at their job?

Is your company also making you sign in to the coffee machine with your employee badge now? Sorry, that's just the first thing that popped into my head. But it does feel like every part of our day is getting watched and tracked now, from the apps we use to the way we drive to work. Companies have been sliding this stuff in slowly for years, and then one day you realize your work chat is being read by someone in a cubicle who doesn't even know you.

River_scott nailed it, they chip away at privacy until even your phone is a work device.
