I get what you're saying about "total embarrassment" but honestly, is it really that serious? My mom has seen my notes app before and I just had a bunch of random thoughts about dog grooming techniques and a list of movies I wanted to watch. Nobody cares about your junk food lists that much, they'll probably just make a joke about it for five minutes and move on. Unless you're hiding something way worse than snacks, encryption feels like overkill for most people.

My sister found my notes app with my whole password list and like 3 different grocery lists for snacks I planned to buy. Now she knows exactly how much junk food I'm hiding. Encryption is the only thing standing between us and total embarrassment.
