A pumpkin enzyme peel taught me a lesson about timing

I was doing a seasonal facial with a pumpkin enzyme mask. Left it on a bit too long, and the client's skin turned bright red. She looked like she had a bad sunburn for hours. We had to soothe it with aloe vera gel and lots of apologies.

My friend had that happen once. It looked angry but was totally fine by the next morning.

I mean, when you said it looked angry but was fine by morning, that happens so often. I've noticed with like, minor injuries they always seem worse at first. Maybe it's just me, but we freak out over small things because they look bad right away. Like my knee scrape last week was all swollen, but it was fine the next day.

Right? @luna_young1, it's like our bodies just need a few hours to sort things out. The initial swelling and redness is just the first response, not the final result.
