Had a client last Tuesday that made me rethink my whole approach
I was working on this lady Sandra, 45 years old, she had really sensitive skin and she asked why I kept using the same serum on everyone. I told her it was my go-to for hydration and she just said 'but does it fit my face?' It hit me that I was treating all my clients the same instead of really looking at their skin. Has anyone else had a client call them out like that and make them change up their routine?

Did you ever catch yourself just going on autopilot with your go-to products...? That happened to me with a guy who had really oily skin and I kept reaching for my standard mattifying primer. He just looked at me and said 'my skin feels tight after you use that, can't you see it's dry under the oil?' Man, that stung. I ended up switching to a lightweight gel moisturizer and a different prep routine for him, and now I actually watch how the skin reacts before I even pick up a bottle. It made me slow down and treat each face like its own puzzle instead of a checklist.

Yeah that hit me too @stone.jesse. I stopped assuming and started asking instead.

Has anyone else ever had that moment where you're so sure you're helping, but you're actually just messing someone up? I once spent ten minutes selling a guy on a heavy-duty moisturizer, only to realize his skin was already soaked. Guess who ended up looking like a shiny mess and had to wipe his face off with a napkin while apologizing?
